Acne can take on many forms and can leave people feeling self conscience. While some don't let it bother them, I tend to feel really sad when my skin breaks out in red bumps and cysts. I managed to fly through my awkward teenage years with a clean slate and then WHAM! Adulthood didn't see it coming. Skincare plays a huge part in helping keep my skin clear. I try and stay clear of products targeted towards acne as I feel they're too harsh and stripping, causing my face to product more oil and clogging more pores. I've managed to find a few products that have been saving my skin over the past few months. So let's get to it.
Ingredients: Dead Sea Mud, aloe vera juice, pomegranate extract, acai extract, bentonite clay, guar gum, flax seed oil, vegetable glycerin
This mask has been my life savor. Dead sea mud is known for its ability to increase circulation and bring nutrients and oxygen to our cells while removing toxins. Its super rich in minerals like Sodium, Chloride, Magnesium, Potassium, Iron, and Calcium. Aloe Vera helps calm and soothe the skin while Pomegranate Extract helps with inflammation. Acai Extract is a huge antioxidant while Bentonite Clay helps purify and detox. This formula is absolutely stunning and very strong.
All you need is a little bit, whether on a spot or as a detox mask, and you're left with brighter and clearer skin in less than 15 min! It literally sucks all the junk from your pores and helps spots come to a head and heal faster. I've been living on this mask as a 1x a week treatment. Since you only need a little bit...this tub is going to last me forever! If you have spots, I highly recommend trying it. MIG is kind enough to offer a 20% off on their site with code Fromthebullet20.
Ingredients: Highest-Grade Cold-Pressed Certified Virgin Organic Black Cumin (Nigella Sativa) Oil, Certified Organic Cajeput (Melaleuca Minor) Essential Oil, Certified GMO-Free Vitamin E (Tocopherols) Oil.
This little potion packs a big punch. The ingredients in this concentrated serum boosts vitamin A, B and C along with vital minerals like Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium and Zinc. It helps to reduce oil and unclog pores and is said to help oily skin balance itself. Organic Cajeput is also said to promote clear thoughts and liveliness. I've been absolutely loving this serum. It's very concentrated, so you only need a little bit. I like to add it to my face oils or serums and apply it all over. You only need 2-3 drops for the entire face. Sometimes, if I have a spot, I'll apply it directly to the skin and let it sink in. It destroys it and minimizes it overnight! I experience zero irritation, just calming and anti-inflammatory benefits. It works well when combined with any product I put it in especially after the MIG Dead Sea Mud Mask as the perfect complimentary treatment.
Ingredients: water, glycerin, phenol, niacinamide, vinegar, magnesium chloride, lactic acid, arctium lappa root extract, salicylic acid, sodium benzoate sulfur
This bottle took a lot of guts and patience for me to try. I was told to expect my skin to get really bad before it becomes better and to begin using it every day 2x a day. My mouth dropped when I was told that. I imagined my face would fall off. Happy to say, it didn't. Let's talk sensation. This thing stings and stinks. The first few times I used it, it stung bad. I used it every other night for a week and then every night and then morning and night. My whole face purged like crazy. Spots I never knew I had cropped out. It took about 2 weeks for my skin to purge and heal. I experienced a lot of redness after each application and my face just felt flushed. With consistent use, I'm able to use the acid morning and night without any irritation. If anything, my redness is going away and all of my old scars are slowly fading. This original formula (which you can't get in the UK anymore) has the controversial ingredient Phenol. It's what gives the formula its numbing effect. I swear, after I apply the toner (with a cotton pad), my face goes numb. I apply my moisturizer and makeup and can't feel my skin lol. I'm used to the sensation now, but in the beginning...it was so weird! At the end of the day, this acid has completely balanced my skin and helps reduce any new blemishes overnight. I can actually feel it killing the bacteria with each application. If you get this beauty, I recommend starting slow but sticking with it and the results are magical.
So there you have my top 3 blemish fighters that I have been LOVING lately. As always, spot test for sensitive skin as these ingredients are all a bit strong...except maybe the Odacite formula which I find very gentle. I hope if you try these...you'll love them as much as I do.
